Bayern's Lucio hits out at boo-boys

Soccer Betting Lines

04/21/2009 - Munich, Germany (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Brazil international Lucio has backed Jurgen Klinsmann to lift Bayern Munich out of its current malaise.

A 1-0 win against Arminia Bielefeld at the weekend kept Bayern in the title race, but Klinsmann's job remains under threat as the fall-out from the Champions League defeat to Barcelona continues.

"If we win the league then it will also be for the coach," Lucio told the Tageszeitung. "Of course it hurts me to hear the calls of 'Klinsmann out'. If I were a fan on the terraces, I would not join in.

"What would a new coach do? I believe the fans have got to support us in this phase of the season, regardless of our situation.

"We are now going into the most critical stage of the season and this is when we need the fans and their motivation the most.

"The win over Bielefeld was a win for our morale. Everybody could see it was intact and we are certainly not going to give up. We have just got to win at the moment, which is why it was important to fight hard and get the three points."

Kurt Warner to start, Matt Leinart to watch

Despite the debate that's swirling , Kurt Warner will remain the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, coach Dennis Green said today. The Arizona Cardinals are the +7 point underdog at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com for this Sunday's game.

Green's comment came in a statement released by the team following an ESPN report that Green decided that rookie Matt Leinart would replace Warner as starter for Sunday's game at Atlanta.

"Generally talking about the starting lineup is not something we do," Green told the AP. "However, given the speculation that was out there we want to make it clear. We're disappointed after last week, but we still expect to be a playoff football team and we fully expect Kurt Warner to be the quarterback that leads us. That has not changed."
